Gil is an active partner with Aviles Real Estate Brokerage. He started his own company, Real Estate Advisors Group in April 1992 in South America and served as an Executive Vice President. His main goals were to negotiate contracts and to network the local market. He obtained his Agricultural Engineering degree and Computer Systems Diploma in Miami, FL. Gil is resourceful and knowledgeable about business relationships and sales. Cultural sensitive and internationally traveled with excellent Spanish communication language skills. His Real Estate background involves business development, strategic planning, marketing, construction cost, full profit and loss accountability, scheduling, accounting, cash flow analysis, purchases and professional relationships.

Gil was a partner at AGS Investment Properties and administered all of the aspects of the process involved in purchasing, renovating, and selling single family homes. Gil analyzed data, recruited and mentored his colleagues, negotiated legal contracts, managed construction projects that ensured compliance with regulatory requirements.

With so many years of experience in Real Estate, Gil has decided to go to the next level and manage Aviles Business Brokerage. He realizes that making the decision to either buy or sell a business can be a complicated process. Gil quoted, “My team and I will help entrepreneurs to succeed . We will provide them with an overview and outlook of what is available and most fitting to their needs.”

Kurt Sequer –
Commercial Lender

Kurt is a small business banker & commercial lender with South Atlantic Bank. South Atlantic Bank is a South Carolina based community bank which is headquartered in Myrtle Beach, SC. The Charleston office is temporarily located off of Anna Knapp Blvd. in Mount Pleasant, specifically, 1127 Queensborough Blvd suite 105. Seguer and two former colleagues Kenneth M. Pickens, SVP and Regional President, and Brian J. Michel, VP,  small business banker & commercial lender, spearheaded SAB’s entrance into the Charleston market in late 2013. The seasoned local commercial lending team is adept at providing various types of commercial loans to small businesses throughout the tri-county area through a vast network of professionals and business owners.

SAB will have a full service, 9600 SQFT office building by late 2016. It will be located on the corner of HWY 17 frontage and the entrance to the Publix shopping center next to the Eastshore Athletic Club, which is less than a quarter of a mile from the location of the temporary office. Seguer has 15 + years experience in the financial services industry, holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration and is an undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts. He is also a graduate of the South Carolina Graduate Banking Association and is a member of the Historic Rotary Club of Charleston and The Harbour Club in downtown Charleston.

John Q. Florence, Esq.

John grew up in Charleston and is an alumnus of Porter-Gaud School. He graduated from the College of Charleston Honors College in 2007. In 2011, he graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Juris Doctor from the USC School of Law and an International Masters in Business Administration from the Darla Moore School of Business.

Prior to founding Florence Law Firm, LLC, John oversaw the birth and growth of the Charleston office of Bell Carrington & Price, LLC, a state-wide real estate law firm based out of Greenville, South Carolina. While working there, John handled commercial and residential real estate closings, business formations and transfers, wills and estates, and general business and corporate matters. He developed, cultivated, and serviced a diverse group of clients, including realtors, bankers, developers, builders, business owners, and investors.

In his free time, John enjoys spending time with his fiancée and his family, visiting the beach, and playing basketball.

John is a CFO with over 30 years of results-oriented management experience in Accounting, Finance, and Operations. He has served as CFO or Corporate Controller for small to medium sized businesses ranging from $5 million to $130 million in revenues. In those positions, he has effectively led in the areas of Accounting, Budgeting/Forecasting and Reporting, Treasury functions, Human Resources, Credit and Collections, Billing, and Information Technology.
His industry background includes telecommunications, retail, manufacturing, and distribution. He has worked in public and private companies with entrepreneurs, private equity firms and participated in acquisitions. He is skilled in developing financial plans that lead to increased profitability through the use of clear strategies and measurable objectives.
With a focus on improving cash flow, John has successfully reduced accounts receivable days outstanding, increased inventory turnover, and worked with suppliers for extended payment terms. He has successfully refinanced bank loans to improve cash availability and to bring companies back into compliance with bank requirements.
Having worked for companies with high growth, John has been successful helping companies’ right size staffing as needed. In particular, he recognizes that the most important component for any company is cash. John is skilled at developing models to help predict cash needs and forecast line of credit availability.
